DIY Benihana Dinner Party

As we approach month nine of the global pandemic, I find myself trying to eat super nostalgically. I miss the experience of dining out, and there’s simply no better dinner and show combo than Benihana. Everyone has been to a birthday of some sort at Benihana and walked out smelling like a blooming onion.

Although I don’t have a theater-style flat top grill table at my house or the finesse to craft an onion volcano, I found it’s just as fun and satisfying to mimic the dishes of Benihana at home.

Through a combination of purchasing their signature sauces and making a few dishes myself, I had the complete at-home Benihana experience and didn’t have to shower after!

BIG SECRET!

Benihana will let you purchase their signature sauces. Pick up the ginger salad dressing, mustard sauce, and lastly my favorite, the ginger sauce. While you are there, ask for some branded hats and branded chopsticks to keep on theme. Everyone loves hats. Peep this guy!

Recipes To Make

Benihana Salad

Signature Hibachi Fried Rice

Hibachi Steak, Hibachi Scallops, Hibachi Shrimp, Grilled Onions, and Grilled Zucchini

Feel free to cook up any veggies or proteins you like that I missed from the menu at Benihana.

Serve with loads of sake for a lit evening! Maybe even finish up the meal with a scoop of green tea ice cream with a candle in it and a signature Benihana polaroid.
